Ben Westbeech - There's More To Life Than This

Strictly Rhythm signee Ben Westbeech is back with his highly anticipated sophmore album, There’s More To Life Than This (TMTLTT), which is set to drop on August 1st. The incredibly talented singer, songwriter, DJ and producer who released his debut, Welcome To The Best Years Of Your Life (WTTBYOYL), on Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood label in 2007 is fully re-energised following the lengthy break. Although he has kept his hand in by doing a few guest appearances and a bit of production for other artist's, the break has done him as solo artist the world of good, as I believe this is the album that truly defines Ben as a recording artist.

Jehst - The Dragon Of An Ordinary Family

When this album dropped into my inbox two days ago, it's safe to say that I was shocked, yet pleasantly surprised. I knew that Jehst was back in the studio after seeing the brilliant viral 'Jehst Is My Postman' (which is the first single, Starting Over) video that hit the net in April, but had no idea that his third studio album was finished and ready to hit the shelves. Along with Mystro and Ty, Mr. Shields has been one of my favourite UK Hip-Hop artists over the past 10 years, with two of the greatest releases that the genre has ever seen. Granted that his recent work can't be compared to The Return Of The Drifter days, but The Dragon Of An Ordinary Family sees him back to his best, slaying all competition in sight.

Ed Sheeran Live @ Leeds Cockpit

On the day that he was presented with his first ever magazine cover (see above), man of the moment Ed Sheeran arrived in Leeds to perform at the Cockpit for the second time in his career. If you have been before, then you will know that it's a rather dingy venue that is situated beneath Leeds Train Station, but is the type of place that Ed thrives on and can bring to life through both his music and vibrant personality.
