Hip-Hop Classic #42: Jurassic 5 - Jurass Finish First (Chosen by Rizzle Kicks)

'Jurass Finish First' is a track taken from the major label debut album by alternative Hip-Hop group Jurassic 5, which was released June 20th, 2000 on Interscope. The track was never released as a single and features an infectious horn sample from 'Flip' by American Jazz artist Shelly Manne and the Incredible Bongo Band's famous 'Apache'. A copy of the CD is on display at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History along with 'Californication' by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Ozomatli's debut album as representations of Southern California's music scene. One of my favourite Hip-Hop groups of all-time, check out the track and what Rizzle Kicks have to say, after the jump...

Rizzle Kicks: "We played it a lot on our first headline tour so it brings back pretty awesome memories. The song itself highlights a type of hip hop that we love.. A love sample with a break. Plus the interplay Jurassic 5 are known for is showcased brilliantly. Oh yeah and Charli 2na is an absolute beast, with one of the best voices and delivery in the game!"
