GLASTONBURY 2024 - EMERGING TALENT COMPETITION

Very happy and proud to announce that I'll be a judge on Glastonbury's Emerging Talent competition for the 10th year in a row. Discovering new music and elevating those artists is more important than ever, and this competition truly gives artists an opportunity to reach a new level of audience. Three of my selections over the past 10 years have gone onto perform at Glastonbury on various stages, which has been incredible to see. Hit the jump to learn more about when the competition opens and how to enter.

Bandit & Belfort - Jenny (Heaven Can You Hear Me) (Paul Woolford Remix)

Does anyone do Piano House better than Paul Woolford? Probably not.
So good to see Paul add his magic touch to this already incredible record from Bandit & Belfort called 'Jenny (Heaven Can You Hear Me)', which came out towards the back-end of last year.
Absolutely adore Bandit's voice and can't wait to hear what she has in the pipeline...
Fucking love this remix!!!

Debbie - Rain

Once every so often, an artist comes along who just feels really special - Debbie is one of those people. Ever since featuring on the last Stormzy album back in 2022, she's someone who I've been following and keeping track of their journey. This new single 'Rain' feels like she's really started to find her sound and I can tell that this will be a huge year for Debbie. Can't get this one out of my head. LOVE! Stream here.

Knevrm!nd - Thoughts

Unmistakable vibes from Karizma (aka Kaytronik) under his Kneverm!nd alias... Skippy drums, deep pads, a beautiful bassline and a masterclass in vocal (MJ?!) sampling. One of the best to ever do it. Support on Bandcamp here.

Erick the Architect - Ezekiel's Wheel (Feat. George Clinton)

Erick The Architect is one of the most fresh and exciting artists out there right now... seeing him team up with Parliament-Funkadelic icon George Clinton feels like the perfect move, and the music is as good as you'd expect. You can pre-order Erick's forthcoming album 'I've Never Been Here Before' here, which drops next month and will no doubt be in contention for AOTY come the end of 2024. Love this.

Kid Cudi - Blue Sky

2024 has started strong in terms of album releases, but the most exciting is probably the return of Kid Cudi, with 'INSANO' and features the likes of Pharrell, A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott and loads more. The penultimate track is 'Blue Sky' and feels like classic Cudi, and is one of my favourite things that he's released in recent times. Buy & stream the album here.

Sweely - Time For Freakness (On The Ride)

'Time For Freakness (On The Ride)' is the latest single from French producer Sweely, someone that I've been following for many years now, and it's amazing to see the progression and how well he's done. The vocal on this one is amazing, but that bassline is the real star, and is giving me serious early Daft Punk vibes. You can pick up your copy on Bandcamp here.

Jamie xx - It's So Good

Jamie xx has always been a master at using samples in the most unique ways, and that's no different on his new single 'It's So Good', which has been created for the latest CHANEL campaign. After teasing with some music back in 2022, let's hope that 2024 is the return of Jamie and a brand new album. Buy & stream the song here.

Cookin Soul & Tha God Fahim - Guillotine

Another glorious piece of hip-hop from Cookin Soul, who's been killing it for over 10 years now. Teaming up with Atlanta-based Tha God Fahim. Classic sounding, but still fresh... My favourite kind of hip-hop, which makes me excited for what they are cooking up together.

OG Keemo - Torshavn

An exceptional piece of hip-hop from German rapper OG Keemo, which features an underground soul sample of 'Giving Up' by Shirley Brown from 1977. I have always loved discovering new hip-hop from countries such as France, Netherlands and Germany. The scene feels very much alive right now and 2023 was a great year for the genre... can't wait to hear what's to come this year.
