The House Of Coxhead: Sound Of 2013 (Part 2)

After bringing you Part 1 last week, here is Part 2 of my Sound Of 2013 list, which is a list of artists who I believe have big things ahead of them in the next 12 months. Check out Part 1 HERE, and be sure to do your research on all 10 artists - you'll thank me later.

Arlissa

Arlissa is a name that is featured on BBC's Sound Of 2013 list, and is a name that you may recognise following the heavy radio support her debut single has received from Radio 1 over the past few months, which features Hip-Hop legend NaS. Extremely hot, extremely talented and extremely unique. Next year is going to be massive for this young lady. Get your copy of the debut single HERE.

David Stewart

With a debut EP featuring Ed Sheeran, Wretch 32 & Yasmin, David Stewart has had a pretty brilliant 2012, but it's just the beginning for Example's ex-guitarist, with 2013 holding a lot in store for this effortlessly diverse and talented singer/songwriter. Last month saw him release his second solo EP 'Dark Side Of Paradise', which is produced solely by upcoming producer Sango, and shows a more Electronic/darker side to that of his debut. He draws on influences from an array of musical genres, and with a sound quite similar to that of The Weeknd, the only way is up next year. Download both EP's HERE.

Bicep

Some may argue that Bicep have been the sound of 2012, me included, but only a select few have been touched by their music this year and 2013 is no doubt set to be an even bigger 12 months for this simply wonderful Irish duo. 'FMB001', the debut release on their newly formed label Feel My Bicep, is without doubt the EP of the year in my eyes, with 3 fresh and classic sounding anthemic House tracks that are impossible to not fall in love with. Even if you don't stick to your New Year's Resolution to go to the gym, please make sure you keep up to date with Bicep - you won't regret it.

Mahalia

13 year old Mahalia captured the hearts of many earlier this year following a tweet from Ed Sheeran, after the two of them had met before one of Ed's gigs. Ed was so impressed by the talent she possessed for someone of such a tender age that he felt the need to share it with the world, and I'm very glad he did, because I have fallen in love with her voice ever since. In parts she has a vocal tone not too dissimiliar to Delilah's, but there is no way you can pigeon hole this young lady, because she's brought something completely fresh to the table, and has me truly excited to hear some more material in the near future. Download Mahalia's debut EP HERE.

Ryan Ashley

Ryan Ashley is the final artist on the Sound Of 2013 list, and is one who's set to have a massive 2013 ahead of him. Ryan shot into the spotlight thanks to a number of jaw dropping YouTube covers during the first half of 2012, and has since gone onto start writing his own material, working with some of the countries best songwriters and producers, meaning a debut album is well on the way. A whole lot of soul, a big heart and heaps of passion, all of which shine through in his music/performances.
