Adele takes Songwriter award & Ed Sheeran wins Best Song at Ivor Novello's

After sweeping up at the BRITS & The Grammys, Adele was nominated for four awards at this year's Ivor Novello's, taking away two; Songwriter of The Year and Most Performed Work of 2011 for 'Rolling In The Deep'. Ed Sheeran picked up Best Song Musically & Lyrically for 'The A-Team', beating off competition from 'Rolling In The Deep' & 'Shake It Out' by Florence & The Machine. PJ Harvey won Album of the Year award for 'Let England Shake', which was up against Adele's '21' & '50 Words For Snow By Kate Bush'.

The prestigious ceremony is in its 57th year and celebrates songwriting and composing by British/Irish artists. Other awards included best contemporary song, which went to 'Video Games' by Lana Del Rey and her songwriting partner Justin Parker.
