Ahead of his set this coming Friday, Synamatix has recorded an exclusive mix for Farr Festival, which includes new tracks from South London Ordnance, Bicep, Myths, Leon Vynehall, Thefft and many others. Check out his interview HERE and pick up the mix for free below - this guy never disappoints.
A few months ago, the supremely talented Alvin Risk added a much-needed club inflected slant on Fun.'s Janelle Monae-assisted chart smash "We Are Young". But the good news is that, he's now gone back in on it, and created something that maintains that anthemic feel that was prevalent in his original rework, but switches up the feel to something that we've become more accustomed to hearing from the producer. Lasers, insanely precise vocal sampling/pitching and yawning basslines all figure here, and this now staid and over-saturated track now has yet another lease of life. I remember when he played this out during his set supporting Example in April, so glad we finally get to hear the studio version.
Uploaded to his SoundCloud earlier today, here is a new piece of music from masked magician SBTKRT. No word on whether this will be released, but it's got a shimmering summer feel to it, and has made me revisit his self-titled debut from last year.
Here is the highly anticipated KanYe West-featuring single from 2 Chainz's forthcoming solo album 'Based on a T.R.U. Story', which is set to be released August 14th, with G.O.O.D. Music's 'Cruel Summer' slated for a September 4th release date.
15 minute album teaser for the highly anticipated debut album from AN21 & Max Vangeli, which is set to drop soon on SIZE and features the anthemic new track with Julie McKnight. As far as Progressive House goes, it doesn't get much better than this.
Orlando-based producer Henry Fong slows things down on the new single from Calvin Harris & Example, creating a lovely Moombah-inspired big room anthem. Completely different to all the official remixes and a nice addition to your iTunes library, for free. Download this 114 bpm face melting bootleg below; pre-order the EP HERE.
After ten strong years in the game, UK rapper Ramson Badbonez is now readying the release of his long overdue debut album 'Bad Influence', which is set to drop August 27th on Boot Records. The lead single 'My Shit' is out today, but we at The House Of Coxhead are happy to bring you an exclusive from the album, which features a verse from fellow UK Hip-Hop heavyweight Mystro and production from the legendary Harry Love. 'Bad Influence' is another strong UK Hip-Hop album in 2012 from a criminally under-rated lyricist, so make sure you pick up your copy next month, but for now press play and enjoy this...
'No Sweeter Love' is my favourite track from London-based singer/songwriter Sian Sanderson's debut EP 'Write Your Wrongs', which is available as a pay-what-you-want download on her Bandcamp. Sian is one of my favourite discoveries of 2012 so far, with her unique vocal tone and refreshing outlook on making music, and life in general, allowing her to create music way beyond her years. Big fan...
34-year old (mad, right?!) Lemar is back with a new hair cut and a new video for his comeback single 'Invincible', which will be available on August 12th. The video and the concept remind me a lot of 'Someone Should Tell You', which isn't a bad thing, because that's without doubt one of my favourite Lemar songs.
