Thursday, November 25, 2010 at 9:30PM New video for one of the more enjoyable tracks from Quincy Jones’ tribute album, Q: Soul Bossa Nostra. The track is a cover of Q’s own 1960s’ hit Soul Bossa Nova.

New one from Miguel’s debut album, All I Want Is You. Was really looking forward to this, but there are far too many skippable tracks in my opinion. The lead single/title track, along with this & Vixen are my personal favourites. His voice is still one of the best out there though.

For those of you who don’t know who Liam Bailey is; he is the guy that is featured on the new Chase & Status track, Blind Faith. The other day he did an acoustic session for Soul Culture in Camden Town, which simply blew me away. First he performed his own track, I Belong, which is produced by the brilliant Salaam Remi and will feature on his forthcoming LP. He then did a cover of version of one of my favourite Etta James songs; I’d Rather Go Blind. This guy has incredibly amounts of talent, and then some.

Here is a new one from Marsha Ambrosius’ upcoming album, Late Nights & Early Mornings, which is set to drop in early 2011. Just Blaze’s production is incredible and I much prefer it to the lead single, I Hope She Cheats On You. So much love for this woman’s music, and her new look.

Here is the first single off Illa J’s upcoming EP, 4 Past Midnite. His last album was pretty incredible, but a lot of that is to do with the production from his big bro, Dilla. This is produced by Young RJ, who did a lot on the new Slum Village LP. He isn’t the greatest rapper in the world, but this is a nice track; however it’s not a patch on anything from Yancey Boys.

WOIIIIIIIIIIIIII!! Christmas time is well on its way and here is something to get you started. It’s a track by Brandon Bass & Curiosity that will be featured on the above album, which is going to be released on December 1st by the Cold Busted family. Think of Christmas classics mixed with Hip-Hop/Trip-Hop/Dubstep. This is genius. My favourite label of 2010.

iTunes bonus track off Banks’ 3rd LP, Hunger For More 2. Two of Em’s best verses have been on other people’s tracks this year. Lot of love for this.
