Some sweet head nodding Downtempo vibes courtesy of 23 year old London-based producer Laymedown. Cassie's 'Me & U' vocal has been rinsed over the past few years, but this is a fresh take on the R&B star's hit single and is one of the best to date.

Following on from Gramatik's 'Street Bangerz Vol. 1, 2 & 3', Krystian Shek's 'Vol. 4' and Slabofmisuse's 'Vol. 5' - Poldoore steps up to bring us 'Street Bangerz Vol. 6', which is set to be released May 30th on Cold Busted. This series has been absolutely flawless thus far, and I'm pleased to say that Poldoore has kept up the trend, opitimising everything that's refreshing about this label - fusing together Trip-Hop with Soul, Funk and many other genres to create a forward-thinking outlook on making music. The track is an enchanting piece of downtempo Pop/Folk/Soul that allows you to get lost in the music, before you find yourself sticking it on repeat for hours upon hours. This gem was released into the feral matrix that is soundcloud today. This has an undeniable Hudmo vibe to it but I don't think that takes away from the quality of the production. I love the intermittent flashes of electric guitar and hi-hats especially but I feel the full palette of sounds chosen here work exceptionally well. I hope to hear more from this Bradford based producer as soon as possible.

My favourite track from Evil Needle's forthcoming LP 'Cirrostratus', which is set to drop March 29th on Cold Busted. This is funky downtempo Trip-Hop at its very best, and is another wonderful release to add to the already flawless CB back catalogue.

Sick of the same old Christmas songs...? Well, A Very Busted Christmas: Season 2 is just for you. Following the success of their first Christmas album last Winter, Cold Busted are back with Volume 2, which is set for release on November 30th. The album is basically all the classic festive songs reinvented by the cream of the crop in Trip-Hop/Funk/Downtempo music - below are two of my favourite additions to the compilation. Late, but here is the debut single off of Taylor McFerrin’s full length LP Early Riser, due out on Brainfeeder in 2011. This is completely different to anything we’ve previously heard from the Brooklyn based producer, but I’m love with it; RYAT’s vocals are stunning. Everything about this is incredible.

Wat Happened is a track taken from 80s Casual’s upcoming album, One Night Stand, which will be released September 1st on Cold Busted. I seem to have found myself saying this a lot this year; but this is genuinely one of the best albums I have heard in a long time - it’s just spectacular. The fusion of funk, soul, hip-hop, trip-hop and house make for the most beautiful sound and sums up everything that Cold Busted is about. Could have posted any of the 19 tracks from the album, but if you like what you hear then make sure you support good music when it drops.
