George The Poet shows exactly why he's the name on everybody's lips at the moment with new track 'Cat D', which achieves a poignancy and social understanding that few artists are lucky enough to ever touch upon - without doubt the most exciting young lyricist in UK music at the moment, bar none.

Just days after dropping new his Bodhi produced single "1, 2, 1, 2" the incredibly talented George The Poet has treated fans to more new material in the form of concept EP The Chicken and the Egg, which blurs the lines between lyricism, poetry and music in a way only George can. Listen after the jump and hear why George is, for me, one of the most exciting young artists in the world right now.

Recent Island Records signee, Nick Brewer blurs the lines between Hip-Hop and spoken word lyricism on powerful new track 'Further Down The River', which was recorded especially for i-D and samples an interview with Richard Cole, founder of the LifeLine Nehemiah Project in Sierra Leone. Never underestimate the power of words.

Mikill Pane dropped into the Radio 1 studios last night to have a little chat with Huw Stephens and play two tracks from his brilliant Maida Vale session, which was recorded a few weeks ago with a full band. Huw has been a huge supporter of the London-born wordsmith ever since he was introduced to his music last year, and this session will give Mr. Pane the opportunity to reach out to a whole new audience and prove why he is seen by many as the most exciting lyricist in the UK right now. You can download both tracks HERE and hear two more from the session on Huw's show next week.

One of the stronger tracks from Scroobius Pip's sophmore solo album, Distraction Pieces, which is currently sitting pretty in the top 10 on iTunes. I have always sung the praises of his debut solo album, No Commercial Breaks, and this will be no different - I've never been a huge fan of Dan Le Sac's production and feel as though both of Pip's solo albums are a lot less preachy and much more well rounded projects than the two albums with DLS. Granted it's not the best album in the world, or an easy listen if you're not a Scroob fan, but it's a definite must listen, even if it's just for the witty social commentary on extremely relevant subject matters.
