Hip-Hop old-timer Planet Asia hooks up with two fellow legends for my favourite tracks from his latest studio album 'Black Belt Theatre', which drops tomorrow on Green Streets Ent. Asia explained in a recent interview: "I got the concept for Black Belt Theatre not only from martial arts, but from being a Black man, of course, so I’m thinking ‘Black Belt’ and, like in Utah how they have the Bible Belt area, I was thinking like that, like Black Belt areas. That’s really what the core essence of what Black Belt Theatre was really about. It’s basically a little black continent mixed with a little bit of Blaxploitation and martial arts". Cool concept, cool album.

Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 10:53AM Jimmy Fallon kicked off 2012 in style last night by welcoming regular visitors Yasiin Bey & Talib Kweli, better known as Black Star together, to the show. The legendary Hip-Hop duo brought us a live performance of their new Aretha Franklin-inspired single 'You Already Knew' and a web exclusive of the J Dilla produced 'Little Brother' - 'Black Star Aretha' on the way. Legends.

The first leak off Talib Kweli's forthcoming sixth studio album, Prisoner Of Conscious, which is set for an early 2012 release. Amazing beat as ever from Oh No, and the lyrics are extremely relevant and thought-provoking. Big love for this.

Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 2:53PM Side of the stage footage of Raekwon & Ghostface tearing up Govenor’s Island on the New York leg of the legendary Rock The Bells festival/tour. Seriously need to get myself to one of these in the next couple of years. Footage of a very sick BlackStar performance after the jump too.

Spotted over at SKOA, here is the latest piece to surface from DJ Shadow's upcoming fourth studio album, The Less You Know, The Better, which will feature collaborations from Talib Kweli, De La Soul's Posdnuos, Little Dragon, Afrikan Boy and Tom Vek. Judging from this it sounds like Shadow is back to his best, but I will save my judgement for when the album drops on September 27th. For more info check HERE.
