One of my favourites and basically the only unheard track from Pusha T's debut major release/EP, Fear Of God II, which is a follow up to the Fear Of God mixtape and will be available November 8th on G.O.O.D. Music. Bangladesh comes through with a huge beat and Push does his thing as ever - can't wait for his debut album. "I just wanna flip it, I just wanna sell it..."
Earlier today the first two tracks surfaced from Amy Winehouse's first posthumous album, Lioness: Hidden Treasures, which is set to be released on December 5th. 'Like Smoke' features Amy's (and many other people's) favourite rapper Nasir Jones, and 'Our Day Will Come' is a stunning cover of the Ruby & The Romantics' classic, which was apparently recorded all the way back in 2002. You can listen to 'Like Smoke' below and listen to 'Our Day Will Come' over on the Sky News website HERE. Sorely missed.
"Winehouse’s third album of previously unheard tracks, entitled Lioness: Hidden Treasure, will be released on December 5th They include three cover versions, her duet with Tony Bennett, Body & Soul, recorded in March this year, and a collaboration with New York rapper Nas. A donation of £1 from the sale of each album will go towards the Amy Winehouse Foundation – the charity set up in her honour."
After a hugely successful screening on Monday night (picture above) and nothing but positive feedback over the past 3 days, the fourth and final episode of the incredibly hard-hitting drama Top Boy is set to hit our screens tonight at 10pm on Channel 4 (if you've missed any of the first three episodes you can catch up on 4OD before the big finale). Top Boy/Channel 4 have also linked up with Blackberry for an innovative BBM engagement session, which allows the audience to follow the characters of Sully (Kano) and Duahane (Ashley) via their BBM pin. For your chance to get even more involved with the action make sure you add the Top Boy Blackberry pin 28404915. You will be able to get exclusive real time messages sent from Sully and Dushane as the drama unfolds. Definitely not missing this, and hoping for another series, unless everyone dies tonight.
Back in 2008, prior to the release of Universal Mind Control, DJ sourMILK and Just-N-Credible hooked up with Common to put together this mixtape, which pays tribute to the Chicago-born rappers incredible career thus far. UMC was a hugely underwhelming album and this mixtape was criminally overlooked, so with the release of his new album 'The Believer' just around the corner, I thought it would be the perfect time to bring this back and remember why he is one of the greatest MCs to ever live. Listen/download below.
Here is one of my favourite tracks from Blu Mar Ten's highly anticipated second album, Love Is The Devil, which was released independently this week. Nothing better than thoughtful Drum & Bass with flawless samples and stunning vocals. You can listen to the album snippets HERE and pick it up HERE. Support good music.
Here is a short teaser for the third 'Inside SBTV' episode, which will be airing Saturday 5th November @ 11:50am on Channel 4 and will feature appearances from Boris Johnson, The Saturdays, Cher Lloyd, Keri Hilson and more. Be sure to tune in and tweet with the #insidesbtv hashtag. Jamal is doing us all proud.
The guys over at The Warehouse Project have today announced the line-up for their 2011 New Years Eve party, which is set to be a special one as it's the last to be held at the legendary Store Street venue. New Years Eve is my birthday, so I need to make a decision soon about where I'll be spending my 22nd...
AH YEAH, Zeo Zeonardo has just released some cool visuals for his massive new Trilla featuring track, Settle For No. Production is refreshing, the chorus is super catchy and both boys go in with their verses. Also, it's Zeo's birthday, so head over to his Twitter and wish him a happy bornday.
P.S.Another video cameo for Baller B. He gets about that kid...
An unfinished snippet of the new track to be added to Knife Party's upcoming 100% No Modern Talking EP, which will replace Z-List, because both Rob and Gareth now hate that track (LOL). Another huge tune by one of the breakout acts of 2011. Prefer their productions to Pendulum's.
