Project Alfie vs. Jay-Z - Dead President's

Here is the lead track from Project Alfie's forthcoming mixtape, The Project Alfie Mixtape (clever ay?), which is set to be released on December 27th. The track sees Alfie sample 'Dead President's' by Jay-Z, whilst adding some of his own unique Soul/Vintage Pop flavour, thus creating a simply superb piece of music. Always worries me when people play with a classic, but this kid has something really likeable about him, and I'll definitely be downloading the mixtape when it drops.

Ed Sheeran re-releases 5 old EP's

Today sees the re-release of 5 old Ed Sheeran EP's and the first release on his newly formed label, Paw Print Records - the idea of the re-releases is to allow Ed to have full control of all his own material and give all of his newly gained fans the chance to discover all the music he made before his debut album '+'. So yeah, head over to iTunes and improve your Ed Sheeran collection now - Songs I Wrote With Amy is my personal favourite.

Etta Bond - Yellow Bricked Lego House (Ed Sheeran x Arctic Monkeys) (Soul Culture TV)

Soul Culture TV recently caught up with London-born singer/songwriter Etta Bond, who is signed to Labrinth's Odd Child production label and features on Wretch 32's forthcoming single 'Forgiveness'. During the acoustic performance she did a mash-up of Ed Sheeran's 'Lego House' and 'Old Yellow Bricks' by the Arctic Monkeys - I think it's safe to say she smashed it. Onwards and upwards for one of the most exciting talents to emerge from 2011.

Ed Sheeran - You Need Me x Chase & Status - Let You Go (XFM Winter Wonderland)

Ed Sheeran and Chase & Status last night headlined the first of two XFM Winter Wonderland charity gigs - it wasn't the greatest event I've ever been to, but the line-up was pretty huge and it was nice to see Chase & Status' final show of 2011 blow the roof off a capacity Manchester Apollo. December 15th will see XFM bring there special brand to London's Brixton academy with an indie focussed line-up of The Horrors, Kaiser Chiefs, The Maccabees, Band Of Skulls and We Are Augustines. Not my cup of tea.

Rebecca Ferguson - Shoulder To Shoulder x Run Free

Here are my two favourite tracks from Rebecca Ferguson's debut album, Heaven, which was released today on Syco. Not a huge fan of X-Factor contestants, but this girl has a simply incredible voice, and the 60s vibe that the album has is difficult for anyone to not appreciate. A few boring moments along the way, but overall a very pleasant listen - hopefully she'll last a bit longer than Duffy did. Get your copy HERE.

Adele - 21: Best Selling Album of 21st Century

The Official Chart Company have today announced that Adele's mind-blowingly successful album, 21, has now become the biggest selling album of the 21st Century in the UK. The album is this week spending its 45th consecutive week in the Top 10 after shifting 61,274 copies - this means the sales total now stands at 3,418,131; this sees it pass Amy Winehouse's 'Back To Black'. However, the most impressive fact is that its already the UK's 11th biggest selling album of all-time and is the second biggest selling album by a female artist (in the UK), behind Madonna's 'Immaculate Collection'. After less than 12 months, and with Christmas/New Year to come, I think it's safe to say she's smashed it.

Ed Sheeran to launch Paw Print Records

On November 21st Ed Sheeran took to his Twitter to tell his followers that there would be some exciting news announced in early December. As promised, Sheeran yesterday announced that he will be launching his own record label, Paw Print Records, which will allow him to independantly release and own all of his old material. The five EPs are set to be released on December 12th and are something that every music lover needs to have in their collection. Onwards and upwards.

Stevie Wonder - Superstition (Live on Ellen)

Stevie pops in to see Ellen Degeneres and perform one of his (countless) all-time classics. One of the greatest men to ever walk the Earth - blows my mind every time I see him take to the stage.

Nina Nesbitt - Glue x Noserings & Shoestrings (Live on Radio 1)

Here are two tracks that the extremely talented singer/songwriter Nina Nesbitt performed last night during a live session on Radio 1 for BBC: Introducing. The young Scot has gained huge recognition for her recent covers of Example & Ed Sheeran, but now it's time for her to step into the spotlight and bless us with her own material. You can hear the full session HERE, catch Nina supporting Example on Thursday in Manchester and pick up the Live Take EP on December 5th (Glue is the lead single). Very much looking forward to seeing her live.
