Lalah Hathaway is currently in the UK, and a couple of days dropped into the Jazz FM studios and did an impromptu acoustic performance of 'Breathe' from her 2009 album 'Self Portrait'. She only met the pianist 15 mins before the performance. Stunning.

'Ruffneck' is the new single from Manchester-based production outfit North Base, which consists of Prophecy, Sonic, Silver, Ikee B & Microcosm. The single is set to be released tomorrow on Wheely Dealy, with a B-side entitled 'Acid Flashback'. Top class bass music, with a real old skool vibe to it.

Over a year ago London-born producer Altered Natives produced this remix of the Donna Summer classic 'I Feel Love', with the view to get it re-vocalled or find a new vocalist. However, this never happened and the remix has been in his bag ever since, but with the untimely passing of the Disco legend this weekend, he has uploaded it to his SoundCloud to pay tribute to the all-time great. Massive remix - R.I.P. Miss Summer.

'Bricks' is my favourite track from Newton Faulkner's newly released 4-track EP 'Sketches', which is the first release since his sophmore album 'Rebuilt By Humans' in 2009. That album kind of passed me by, but his debut 'Hand Built By Robots' is a modern day classic, and this has me extremely excited for his forthcoming third studio album 'Write It On Your Skin', which is set for release later this year. 'The Sea Is Calling' is the strongest track from Australian band The Temper Trap's highly anticipated self-titled sophmore album. The album isn't as consistent as their debut release, but it's still very enjoyable and this song is beautiful. Drops tomorrow, pre-order HERE.
