DJ Fresh secures first ever number 1 Drum & Bass single

Back in July last year, DJ Fresh became the first artist to have a number 1 Dubstep single - now in February 2012, Daniel Stein is back at the top of the UK chart, with 'Hot Right Now' becoming the first Drum & Bass number 1 single of all-time. Featuring Roc Nation's Rita Ora, the track has received heavy radio play from all across the board and pipped Emeli Sandé's stunning 'Next To Me' to the top spot. I wonder what record he will break next time?!

Evil Needle - Disco Inferno

My favourite track from Evil Needle's forthcoming LP 'Cirrostratus', which is set to drop March 29th on Cold Busted. This is funky downtempo Trip-Hop at its very best, and is another wonderful release to add to the already flawless CB back catalogue.

AFK & DKS - Shining

Sampling the infectious 'Shine In' from Nu:Tone's 2011 release, here is my favourite track from the latest EP to drop on Datsik's label, Firepower. Loved the Drum & Bass original, but this Dubstep version is a nice alternative and I can see it going down well in the clubs this year. Buy HERE.

Blu x Madlib - UCLA (Album)

And in typical Blu fashion, the LA-born rapper drops a full LP out of nowhere, which is produced by Madlib. The album is 14 tracks long, 128kbps in quality, unmastered and isn't the greatest body of work from two artists who put out more music than anyone else in the industry. No idea why you would want to, but if you would like to buy it, HERE is where you need to go.

Here is a little preview of Ryan Keen's new video, which is the title track and lead single from his forthcoming EP 'Focus'. The video is directed by the incredibly talented Andy Shackleford, who is the Stop Motion Animator for the one and only Rastamouse. One of the best videos I've seen for a LONG time, the full version will be dropping soon, but for now pre-order the EP HERE.

Yasmin - Takes 1 2 Know 1 (Demo) (Prod. Diplo)

Scottish-born singer/songwriter Yasmin last night took to her SoundCloud to upload a brand new track, which is produced by the brilliant Diplo, who has had a very busy few weeks when it comes the new music. This is just a demo of 'Takes 1 2 Know 1', but it shows a whole new side to Miss Shahmir, and I love it.

Stevie Wonder - Ribbon In The Sky (Live @ Whitney Houston's Funeral)

Shortly following Kevin Costner's heartfelt speech, the legendary Stevie Wonder took to the piano to perform a stunning reworked version of his classic 'Ribbon In The Sky' as a tribute to the late Whitney Houston. The two were good friends, and apparently this was one of her favourite songs. Amazing, simply amazing.
