Hackney Marshes in London has been the venue confirmed to host this years Radio 1 Big Weekend event, on Saturday 23-24th June, with a line-up that includes Ed Sheeran, Emeli Sandé, Michael Kiwanuka, Dappy, Plan B, Jessie J, Labrinth, Florence, Lana Del Rey, Tinie Tempah, Rizzle Kicks and more. The event's director, Jason Carter, explains: "This is a concert in the heart of East London and we will use it as an opportunity to shine a light on and celebrate the young people of east London too". Registration for Hackneys Radio 1 weekend is now available, and will be open for six weeks - 100,000 tickets will be up for grabs, but you can bet your bottom dollar that they'll be gone in a flash. No official word on this yet, but there are some pretty serious rumours flying around the Internet that KanYe West & Jay-Z's ground-breaking Watch The Throne tour is going to be coming to the British Isles in May of this year. Having seen videos of the US tour, and been lucky enough to have witnessed these two perform together in the UK twice before, it was only a matter of time before the two Hip-Hop legends brought the WTT spectacle over here.
