Royce Da 5'9" - Second Place (Prod. DJ Premier)

Amidst all the hype about the new Bad Meets Evil EP, Royce decided to take to his Twitter and release this Preemo produced joint, which is taken from his upcoming album Success Is Certain (out July 26th). Massive.

Vanilla - Work It Out x The People x Whisper

Vanilla is a UK based Hip-Hop producer - there isn't much more I can tell you about him (because that's all I know), but I do know one thing, he is one talented geezer who judging by his SoundCloud has had a very busy 12 months. A couple of weeks ago he released High Life, which is a beat tape of 27 soul-sampling hip hop instrumentals, inspired by some of the greatest producers to ever live such as Dilla, Madlib and Onra. This is genuinely one of the best beat tapes I have heard for years - he has sampled some of my favourite Soul records of all-time and brought back that real soulful Hip-Hop sound, which I feel has been somewhat lost in recent times. I think Dilla would be happy that there is still music like this being made, and that more than anything makes me a very happy man. This will probably be the most played thing on my iPod during 2011 - it is THAT good! Get your copy of this for FREE - you would be an idiot if you didn't.

P.S. I even decided to put up 3 tracks in order to convince you.

Rise - Shine Down

Here is my favourite track from this Mancunian beat technician/crate digger/musician's debut album, Messages. The album is a deep, spiritual Jazz record with splashes of Hip Hop and heavily influenced by Pharoah Sanders, Alice Coltrane, Madlib, Strata East & Black Jazz. Super dope.

Friendly Fires - Live Those Days Tonight (Catz N Dogz Remix)

Polish duo Catz N Dogz have fast become one of my favourite production teams in the music world during the past few years - over the past 12 months in particular, everything they have released has been nothing short of spectacular. Their remix of the new Friendly Fires single is no exception, revamping the original into a House/Disco smash hit that would get any dancefloor shaking. Had this on repeat all day. Groovy. Bad Meets Evil - Loud Noises (Feat. Slaughterhouse) x Welcome To Hell

Two of my favourite tracks from Eminem & Royce Da 5'9's highly anticipated collaborative EP, Hell: The Sequel. Loud Noises features the Slaughterhouse boys and Welcome To Hell is produced by Mobb Deep's own, Havoc. I don't think it's either of their best work by any stretch of the imagination, but I do think it's a lot more enjoyable than Relapse & Recovery. Out on the 14th June.

Beverley Knight - Mama Used To Say (Cool Million Boogie Down 12" Mix)

Here is Cool Million's super funky remix of Beverley Knight's lead single from her upcoming album, Soul UK. The album will be her seventh studio album and is a tribute to her favourite UK soul artists - it is due for release in the on June 24th. My parents raised me on this music - I think she has done Junior proud.

Aretha Franklin - Think (Kraak & Smaak Club Mix)

A brilliant remix of one of my favourite Artetha Franklin tracks, which comes courtesy of production trio, Kraak & Smaak. I will be playing this a lot this Summer.

Wiley - Straight Outta London

Another free download from Wiley, which I believe will be on his mixtape with DJ Whoo Kid. Not his greatest piece of work and the hook is a bit annoying, but it's cool all the same.

Excision - X

Here is a monstrous dubstep tune off of Excision's brand new mix, X Sessions Volume 1. Unfortunately it's only a 2 minute snippet, but it will do me, for now.

Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You (Justin Martin Edit)

Justin Martin adds a stereotypically wonky Dirtybird bassline to Stardust's 1998 classic, which is a track that seems to collect at least a couple of new remixes/edits every single Summer. He keeps enough of the original to keep the old heads interested, but brings us something new and fresh for the kids. Free download courtesy of Annie Mac. Thanks Annie.
