One of the best Hip-Hop groups you’ve probably never heard of. Been listening to their two albums (Ambushed & Gravity) today and realised how good they really were, but then again, so is every artist/group associated with the Native Tongues era. Below are two of my favourite tracks, which feature Q-Tip & Mos Def. This is everything that Hip-Hop is about, and more.

13 years after being released, Nacey has put his own twist on one of OutKast’s all-time classics, Spottieottiedopalicious. This is one of the best remixes I’ve heard for a very long time. Funky as fuck.

Here is my favourite track from Kev Browns latest release, Open Mic Knight, which is full of stuff that was recorded back in 1999-2000. He is still one of my favourite producer/rappers ever and Albany is still one of my favourite Hip-Hop songs of all-time. Consistently brilliant. Kev Brown’s drums > yours.

Steve Aoki and Sidney Samson are mad enough as it is, so when you give Mustard Pimp their new single to remix, you get lots of crazy noises and one ridiculously thumping bassline. Not my favourite release in the world, but still pretty nice.

Monday, January 10, 2011 at 2:58PM French Producer/DJ Jean Nipon dives into tech-house territory with the release of his latest EP ‘International Meek’, which drops tomorrow on Institubes. Sick video, and one hell of a tune. Oh, and here is the free download.

Melé is one of the brightest UK producers around at the minute, and here is his new tune which is, well, pretty mind blowing if I’m honest. Personally my favourite piece of his to date - this boy has a big year ahead him.

In February 2010, Gil Scott-Heron released I’m New Here, his first album in thirteen years. In August 2009, as a member and producer of The xx, Jamie xx released his debut album XX. The album We’re New Here sees Jamie xx remixing thirteen tracks from the original I’m New Here album sessions. Here is the latest piece to come from it - I have so much love for both of these men. Out February 21st.
