A mix with a message, and easily my favourite mix to date. My mixes are usually for people who just love House music, but this one is open to lovers of House, Disco, Soul, Motown, Funk, Hip-Hop and Spoken Word. This is a representation of my music taste and is my main mix for the Summer. Please download, listen and spread the word (only if you like it of course). Much love, as always.

Slum Village - Bounce Wit A Nigga

As part of the re-issue of Slum Village's classic album Fan-Tas-Tic Vol 1, there has been a 7" vinyl released, which features this previously unreleased track. Classic SV. Miss these guys.

Ben Westbeech - Summer Mix

Mr Westbeech has been a busy man as of late; finishing his album, doing covers and now recording a Summer mix for our listening pleasure. The mix is full of delicious tracks, from old skool Hip-Hop, to Deep House, to classic Soul/Motown - all my favourite music in one mix really. You can listen/download below and get the tracklist over on Strictly Rhythm's Soundcloud. More new stuff from Ben is on the way, but for now you can enjoy this and read my thoughts of his spectacular second album HERE (label wanted the track taking down, for now - will update when I get the nod).

Zeo Zeonardo - Back Into Time (Feat. Zoe)

Sick video for a big tune from Wolves born and Derby based rapper Zeo Zeonardo. Don't know much about him, but my good friend Baller B just put me onto him and apparently this got its first play on 1Xtra tonight. Production is super fresh, I've got lots of love for the chorus/hook and the lyrics are incredibly emotional for anyone from our generation. I miss being kid. Check his site HERE.

Bill Ryder-Jones - Moel Famau

This is my favourite piece off the new freEP from Bill Ryder-Jones, who many of you will know from the psychedelic pop band, The Coral (he left 3 years ago). You can download the EP from Domino Records, which is the label Bill has recently signed to and will be releasing his debut album on in the next few months. Something quite abstract and different, but very though-provoking. I was never a huge fan of The Coral, but will definitely be looking out for this man's album when it drops.

Ed Cheeno - Gold Card Soul

A stunning new track from Leeds based producer Ed Cheeno, which will be available on the Family Tree Records' second EP, that is expected to be released later on this month. Really cool chilled out Dubstep vibes that allow you to get lost in the music. You can pre-order this and a track from Squadron HERE.

Homework - I'm Into This (Andre Crom & Martin Dawson Remix)

My favourite remix from the new Homework release, Hudson Square Remix EP, which is available of Beatport NOW. Homework on their own are a special duo, but when you throw Andre Crom & Martin into the mix, you have an untouchable quartet.

Stevie Wonder - My Cherie Amour (Ahmed's Wonder-FULL Remix)

I'm always a little worried when people remix songs that mean a lot to me, and my word does this song mean a lot to me. However, Ahmed Sirour isn't one to shy away from a challenge and decided to take on one of my favourite songs of all-time and succeeded in creating something that may be even more beautiful than the original. He has changed the beat, tempo and modernised it a little, but still stayed true to the original - the outcome is fabulous. So much love.

DJ Jazzy Jeff & Ayah - Maybe We Can Just (Feat. STS)

Having heard a few cuts from this tape, it's safe to say that I was very excited to hear the project in its entirety - I'm glad to report that it didn't disappoint, at all. Having sent Jeff a stab in the dark Myspace message a few years ago, Ayah has become one of the most refreshing voices I've heard for a long time and this is one of the most amazing soul projects for years. Here is my favourite track, and you can download the mixtape for free, HERE. (Barry White can sleep in peace knowing that his music is being put to such good use by the likes of Jeff and Zo!)
